OUR WORK

Please note as this is a new business some of the items shown are works undertaken whilst working with a previous company.

Geest Line

Segensworth West, Hampshire

ODW were asked to redesign the office to allow for additional meeting rooms and revamp the existing staff room including incorporating an adjacent meeting room to be become a breakout area.

The works were carried out causing as little disruption to the every day running of the business with noisy works being completed out of hours.

The existing kitchen was reused but given new doors and the existing meeting tables were altered to allow for new data and power connection units to be fitted. Additional furniture was sourced to match and new seating was agreed.

The project was completed on time and within budget.

OSI Maritime Systems

Waterlooville, Hampshire

In August 2020 OSI Maritime approached Gordon at Office Design Works to look at changes to the existing offices in Waterlooville and expanding into the next door unit. A Zoom meeting with Canadian head office was set up and during this we went through the list of requirements for the UK in the future.

A site meeting was then arranged, and full survey taken of both existing and the next door unit. From these drawings and quotation were prepared and options for desk lay out discussed with both UK and Canadian contacts. A few changes later and a final quotation with the decision to do the works in two phases agreed.

During the above process which included, a structural Engineer being consulted, Building control application all with Covid adding to the delays and it wasn’t until April 2021 that works were finally commenced. Despite a few issues with other contractors’ practical completion was achieved on time and within budget.

Works included everything from Lighting & Power to Knock throughs between units and even the cake for the opening party!

Naval Families Federation

The need was for all staff to have electrical height adjustable desks and improved storage and screening. Office Design Works were able to provide cost effective and height adjustable desks with some bespoke storage and screens to give a much clearer and smarter feel to the offices.

The project was completed on time and on budget.

Additional bespoke items were required for some home workers and these were delivered in Portsmouth and Exmouth (it would have been easier if the door had been wide enough to allow access without complete disassembly and rebuild once inside!)

Royal Navy & Royal Marine Charity

After putting together an initial quotation for the new furniture and seating for the RNRMC, Gordon of Office Design Works met the team at there existing premises on Whale Island and the discussions were about the need for flexibility regarding the budget as the new premises which was a refurbishment of a very old empty building was throwing up a few challenges, and the sourcing of product locally which ODW were already doing.

Providing a revised fully itemised quotation with a few product changes and ensuring the lead times for the products chosen was acceptable.

As expected the lead time was short but all the initial order was received and installed in time and looks smart with the two services colours echoed in the desk screens.

Omron Electronics Ltd

Office Design Works Ltd were requested by Omron to carry out re-design works and alterations in two buildings which had previously been linked. The works comprised of relocating and adding to the existing partitions and storage wall on both floors; frameless glass partition alterations; changes to lighting, power and data including separation of the units.

Where openings had previously been created between the units, fire shutters had been fitted and linked to the fire alarm, the fire and intruder alarms had to be separated and left working in both units and the shutters had to be removed and the openings filled in to match the surroundings.

Business Travel Direct

When Adrian Williams called to ask if Office Design Works Ltd were happy to quote for the works at Langley, it was a very quick yes, having worked for Adrian before on the fit out at Amity World Travel (Now part of the Business Travel Direct Group).

The challenge was the time scale as this came in the middle of two other projects and we did not want to let anybody down. By scheduling the various trades around other direct subcontractors we managed to bring the project to completion and even add some additional offices without causing any major disruption.

Colt Group Ltd

When we were first shown round the building it became apparent that a lot of work was needed to bring the building back to a suitable level for Colt Group Ltd head office.

These would include removal of fake beams and columns, stripping out of photo studio (all painted matt black and covering windows which have been found to have rotted) replacement of bright pink painted doors to toilets.

Home and Commercial Mortgages Ltd

In July we met with Mark Charlton and his team to discuss the options for up grading the offices of the family run HCM (Home and Commercial Mortgages Ltd) which has been in Marks family for many years. With the recession, like many other businesses, the premises had been ignored while concentrating on surviving through those difficult times. He now wanted to freshen the look to compete in the changing Mortgage market where it will be independents who offer the best options for their clients.

Office Design Works looked at the best way to open the place up to make it brighter and feel more modern. We provided plan drawings, 3D visualisation and mood boards with options for wall coverings, flooring and office furniture all keeping to the style and company feel. This enabled the HCM team to tweak the final choices and have the look they really wanted.

Aston Rose Chartered Surveyors

Working closely with Colin Lavelle of Aston Rose we have recently completed the Dilapidations works on the above unit. The works included a full strip out of the previous tenant’s partitions, data and electrical items as well as updates to the existing suspended ceilings, toilets, and kitchens. All areas now have a fresh bright feel and with the use of new flooring throughout a sharp modern feel.

The project was completed in the client’s words “All to a good standard and on time”.
The building is now for sale or rent via Andrew Hodgkinson of Lambert Smith Hampton Unit 3 Manor Court.

Cyan Solutions Ltd

When planning to expand into the ground floor of their existing premises Simon Bond wanted to use a contact he had met whilst working for one of his clients on a major move to Portsmouth. Gordon Kingston-Minnis was very pleased to be able to work with Simon to provide a combination of glass partitions with Oak doors to provide offices and a large meeting room for use by Cyan Solutions and its clients.

Clares Business Supplies

Clares were looking to reconfigure there first floor office space and worked with Gordon at Office Design Works and their own interior designer to provide a much brighter and fresher environment. Clares had some elements of the project they wanted to handle in house and ODW were able to plan with them to complete the works on partitioning and redecorating and finish the project on time and to the agreed budget.

Menzies LLP

Once again Gordon of ODW was very happy to receive a call from olds clients Menzies LLP at Whitely who were looking to replace some blinds as per of a new company colour scheme. After searching to best match the requirements we were able to find these Charcoal blinds as below.

Gerrell and Hard Ltd

Nick Gerrell and Joel Hard started a Technical recruitment agency focused on the motor Engineering industry and had outgrown their premises, having decided upon Delme Place, Cams Hall Estate as the venue they appointed Gordon Kingston-Minnis to create a design to suit both their current work force and future expansion.

Amity Travel

Amity World Travel Directors Adrian Williams and Paul Gardner were the first client for Gordon Kingston-Minnis and when in discussions regarding the Travel Agency section it was apparent they wanted a special look for this area I was luckily able to approach Mark Tucker of Design Unlimited (both friend and client of mine) who with Nicola Brook from his team created a warm and softer feel for the Agency which encompassed lighting, furniture, soft seating and overall colour scheme and a change in the boardroom to make it more visible to all clients.

Dixon Yacht Design

Wanted a contractor who would provide a combination of clean white partition and seamless glass to best show off the outstanding images of yachts they have designed and future concepts. They also wanted to have one contractor look after all the finishing details to enable them to move into the offices recently built at Premier Marina Swanwick.

Office Design Works undertook Electrical and Data works, Partition, and Kitchen fitting including plumbing changes this enabled Bill and his team to move in with minimal fuss once BT had completed their works.
